Unique & Really Romantic ...

Wuthering Heights Diorama Shrine Double Sided Long Necklace in Antique Silver Plate - altered art

**** HEATHCLIFF & CATHY ED5 ****

Limited Edition of 6 (but one is mine!!) each OOAK (one of a kind)

Be swept away to those wild n windy moors in the beautiful West Riding of Yorkshire with this wonderfully romantic treasure ...

******************************************************

Wuthering Heights is the only published novel by Emily Brontë, written between December 1845 and July 1846 and published in July of the following year. It was not printed until December 1847, after the success of her sister Charlotte Brontë's novel Jane Eyre. It was finally printed under the pseudonym Ellis Bell; a posthumous second edition was edited by Charlotte.
The title of the novel comes from the Yorkshire manor on the moors of the story. The narrative centres on the all-encompassing, passionate, but ultimately doomed love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, and how this unresolved passion eventually destroys them and the people around them.
Today considered a classic of English literature, Wuthering Heights was met with mixed reviews when it first appeared, mainly because of the narrative's stark depiction of mental and physical cruelty. Although Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre was generally considered the best of the Brontë sisters' works during most of the nineteenth century, many subsequent critics of Wuthering Heights argued that it was a superior achievement.

Featuring an antique silvertone (nickel free), double sided pendant tray or locket with a strong acrylic window on each side. This one measures height including bale 46mm, Width 24mm, Depth 14mm.
Contained in this ornate frame is a collection of treasures that pertain to this wonderful story of love, jealousy & obsession -

On side 1 - an section of text from the novel containing the word Heathcliff that has been dramatically burnt down to add effect. A small silver plated skeleton key - perhaps the key to the great house itself?
On side 2 - another 'singed' piece of text - in this case containing the word Cathy along with dried heather from those wild & windy moors of West Yorkshire...

And peeking through the windows of both sides is actual dried moss in a lovely deep green just like Heathcliff & Cathy would have run across in that bleak, windswept landscape ...

These romantic whimsies all hang from a long (over 80cm long!) antique silver plated elongated cable chain with etched links & fastens with a s/p lobster clasp. There is also a small ant. silver plated (double sided) bee charm at the clasp to finish:).
This may be shortened on request & also may be clasped along the length of the chain to change the look of the necklace as you choose.

A truly lovely piece that any Wuthering Heights, Brontes or Haworth Fan would be proud to wear ...
