Straight off a central Nebraska farm, comes this wonderfully preserved stove board. Stove boards were used in the 1800's and early 1900's to prevent house fires by acting as a protective barrier between dropping embers emitted from the stove and wood flooring. These boards are oftentimes in rough shape but this is an exception as the design is largely intact.

Measuring 28 x 28, this piece is made by American Stove Board Company based in Chicago and New York. The design is a transfer print on tin-metal encased onto the wood backing.

If you are remodeling an old home back to its original splendor, consider using this for your wood-burning stove. I also think it would look smashing on top of a mantle or hung on a wall over a bed or dining room table.

Just a lovely, unusual piece that you won't find every day.

The piece is heavy, so I'm assigning a hefty shipping cost. If it's anything less, I will promptly refunded the difference. If it's more, I'll pick up the tab. Please give me a few days to ship because we'll need to build a box to fit this stove board.

Of course I'm happy to meet up with a buyer at the Blue Valley Post Office in Overland Park on Antioch Road. I'll also deliver to Lincoln, Cole Camp or Warsaw, Missouri.

Because of the weight, I will not ship overseas.

Our shop is smoke-free. Enjoy!
