This set of four French enamelware canisters has been well used over the years and is not complete but still makes a lovely set.

The tins are white with gold type and patterns that have faded over time to almost silver grey in spots. The blue Greek inspired zig zag pattern runs around the top portion of the tins as well as on the lids and is filled with blue, faded to white on the smallest tin. The thin gold lines were definitely hand painted (upon close inspection, you'll see that they're not quite even) which makes this set that much more endearing.

There are quite a few chips (I think of them as beauty marks), some rather large, mainly on the Café and Poivre (see last photo for worst areas).

Café (coffee): 6.75" tall x 4.75" diameter
Farine (flour): 5.75" tall x 4" diameter
Pâtes (pasta): 5.5" tall x 3.5" diameter
Poivre (pepper): 4.875" tall x 2.75" diameter
All are watertight

Three of the four are marked on the bottom with a handwritten "83" and "K" "Ku" and maybe "Sitz..." (can't quite read that one) respectively.

Based on the heaviness of each canister and the old style of decor, I estimate this set to be from the early 20th century.

This set would look lovely in a shabby chic decor or a French country kitchen!
