Make batts and spin your own yarn with this beautiful recycled sari silk fiber from Nepal. This high-quality fiber was produced by a women's collective in Nepal whom I've worked with for years; your purchase helps these women escape poverty and send their children to school.

This silk fiber is excellent quality. It is "silk thrum," meaning that it is made from the leftover ends of warp yarns. These leftovers are created when looms in textile factories are set up or changed to a new color or pattern. This pack of fiber is all loose fiber and is Grade B, meaning that it's not quite as smooth and tangle-free as Grade A. If you're new to fiber and not accustomed to working with loose fiber, you may prefer my Grade AA "Premium Quality" fiber packs, which are neatly organized into skeins for easy handling and no tangles.

You will receive the exact fiber shown in the photos; it weighs 4.3 oz (120 grams). See my other listings for recycled sari silk fiber in other colors, as well as white silk roving, baby camel roving, and banana fiber. Click here to see all the fiber listings in my Etsy shop:
