Ammonites are cephalopods that went extinct with the dinosaurs and are one of the most abundant fossils found today. Their varying shapes and sizes have been used by paleontologists as index fossils to help give reference ages to rock units or other fossils. Ammonites have been found up to 4.5 feet in diameter and female ammonites were up to 400% larger than the males.

This hand made plush keychain is around 3.5 inches tall from base to tip of key ring and 4.5 inches long from back of shell to end of tentacles. It is made with a combination of turquoise, bright green and green fleece with yellow safety eyes, a green key ring and is stuffed with polyfil.

This keychain is almost entirely hand stitched so there will be more visible stitching with seams that aren't as straight as they would be if they were machine stitched, but that all adds to the character of the keychain :) This would likely work best attached as a zipper pull on a bag, a hanging ornament of sorts (office/cubicle buddy!) or attached to a single key as it is fleece and it might not fare well in a battle against a bunch of keys :D Use your best judgement!
