This great little trinket dish is from the 1960s. If your a collector of aviation items this may be one you'd like. It depicts the Wright brothers Kitty Hawk simply by itself against the creamy porcelain.

Italy's Alitalia airlines Commissioned Richard Ginori to do a line of souvenirs, ashtrays and other potteries for the airline.

As trinket dishes go ~ Its just that, clean lines and vintage details make it a handsome catch all. The quality in craftsmanship and materials stand out carrying the name Richard Ginori.

You'll find the history of the Ginori family on Wikipedia. So interesting as far as their staying power as generations keep a family business alive through wars, invasions and occupations since the mid 1700's.

Anyway ~ I love the porcelain and am always thrilled to find even the smallest of pieces in tact.

This dish measures 3 1/2" and has lifts a bit at the corners.Bottom reads Alitalia and Richard Ginori with the Ginori mark in blue.

The right wing has a worn area towards the top otherwise the gold trim is shiny and the graphic is crisp.
