Brilliant pink, coral, yellow and magenta dish, about 5 " square, with hand painted flowers and a few polka dots. So cute, I named it "Kawaii."

To make this dish I began with specially formulated glass cut and arranged in layers in the kiln. When the kiln reached 1600 degrees, I opened it and raked the red hot glass with a long handled tool, making a swirl pattern. Whew, it almost burnt my eyebrows off! After 24 hours of slow cooling (anealing) I cut the glass into a circle. After fire polishing it in the kiln and allowing it to cool again, I painted flowers and squiggles with 18 k gold glass paint, and popped it into the kiln to set the paint. It's impossible to capture in a photo, but all the paint is bright gold.

The colors are fused into the glass and will not fade. You will be amazed at the depth and reflective beauty of the glass in this piece, a real collector's item. Food safe, microwave phobic. Seriously the paint has metal in it (gold!) which might hurt your microwave. Ships carefully wrapped in layers of padding.
