This design was the first lamp I ever made and has continued to be my favorite to build. I could not think of a better way to memorialize these vintage coffee artifacts that have managed to survive all these years!
This is a vintage Universal 1950s coffee percolator that has been gutted and refitted with two C7 flashing bulbs in the interior to light the top and simulate the perc of coffee and one steady burning C7 in the base to light the "coffee's ready" light. The slider switch still moves back and forth from strong to mild, but the heating element is gone. All lights are controlled the rotary switch located on the front of the lamp.
The cup features a C7 neon flicker bulb and is suspended by wire that hides the electric cord and simulates a stream of pouring coffee and curling, aromatic steam.
NOTE: C7 is a standard "screw in" old fashioned Christmas light bulb available at a local retailer or on line. All parts are UL rated and all wire connections are done with both nuts and additional tape and zip ties to keep them secure for years. The lamp comes with maintenance instructions on how to change bulbs, etc.
The coffee tin is a real, vintage piece and has its own rusty patina. Please know that you are buying a bit of history and all the scars inherent to many years of service.
Approximately 18" W by 16" H. ALL BULBS INCLUDED. Easy to maintain, but detailed maintenance instructions are included.
Please be sure to read my shop policies before purchase.
