Homecoming - The Traveler to a Fairy World Upon a Star is a handmade and hand-painted miniature landscape sculpture by Bewilder and Pine. The tiny, N Scale figure of The Traveler has been transported to a world beyond his imagination. . . he finds himself on a stone path leading to a world of unknowns and yet, a place he knows so well.

These little pieces are meant to be a reminder of the importance of our imaginations as we follow the journey and pathways we are on. Never forget the power of it and the magic it can bring again into your world at any time. And never let the childhood imagination of the past disappear. . . keep it, not only close, but at the forefront and it will serve you well always.

As for this landscape. . . well, there is no explaining the magic of the mushroom houses. They exude something we know inherently. Small and inviting. Always awaiting our return. The full, dark, forest green trees sway and whisper in the wind offering their magic song and protection too.

It is uncertain exactly what type of fairies live here. . . but that part of the story within I am leaving entirely up to you. Only YOU can fill the abodes with their spirits. . . I have provided the traveler and the landscape. . . the rest is up to you now. . .

"Walking along the path, he felt a strange comfort in the way the trees bent down to greet him.
He had seen places like this before. In a dream? No . . . in a daydream, as a boy, in his room. There were places like this tucked into every corner of the world then and he felt as if they must surely have gone the way of the dust bunnies and the shadows. . . but here now, they stood again before him. Welcoming him home . . . " - nicolas hall

The mushrooms are painted with sandstone, chocolate and terracotta acrylic paint. The grass and bushes and flowering shrubs are model railroad landscape materials and the stones are very real. . . from the inspiring and foggy shores of Tillamook Bay on the beautiful Oregon Coast

The Traveler Fairy Star Measures 4" tall and 3 1/4 inches wide. This is one of our largest Fairy Stars and by far the most detailed to date.

We can customize stars using small N or HO scale travelers for you in any form or landscape.

"Imagination grows by exercise, and contrary to common belief, is more powerful in the mature than in the young." - W. Somerset Maugham

When I was a boy, I often filled page after page of paper with drawings of places and landscapes I had formed within my evolving imagination. The landscapes and structures took on all shapes and sizes and often reflected the places my own toys would not allow me to create. They were doorways to worlds of my choosing. Places to express all that I was able to imagine.

When I discovered model railroad miniatures I suddenly had the potential to create whole worlds within a very limited space. There is something quite magical in all scale model works. . . from dollhouses down to the smallest scale train and military figures.

A theme that I have been working with in every aspect of my art is that of the "Traveler"
As we all are travelers, in many ways, within this lifetime, it is a theme that I feel most people can relate to. Also, there is no end to the fascination of miniatures and the possibilities that they create. We are all looking for our moments to escape into places we dream of.

For me, this becomes more a blurred reality every day as I get to create these little vignettes for others to enjoy as well.

We all have a travelers tale to tell. . . and a continuing one to write. How we got where we are and where we are going is always being written.

Keep creating!!!
