Antique carving set of knife, fork, and sharpener utensil from John Round & Son of Sheffield England. Firth stainless blade and genuine antler bone handles in box.

Beautiful 1920s carving ware kitted up in a velvet lined box. Real antler sections used for the handles, Firth (very early) stainless steel blade and fork, and what appears to be (and would logically be, for the company and era) silver plated ends and joinery.

Condition is good, with some superficial wear. The box kit is a little knocked and worn as one would imagine it would be after 80+ years. There is some surface scratching and marks here in there on the metal knife and fork but they are very much still practical usable carving utensils. The antler segments are somewhat smoothed and polished from being handled, but overall they are quite excellent, accurately represented by my photographs. See in particular photo 4 where the grain of the antler is visible (this is not molded polymer or other faux finish).

The box measures about 14.5" long by 5" ... and knife is approximately 13" in length from point to base. All pieces are marked as made in England, and the blade of the knife specifies the makers and material. John Round & Son Ltd. was bought and name-changed in the early 1930s, this is a genuinely antique antler bone carving set.
