Rare Capewell and Kimmel hand colored steel engraving of the Empress Eugene and her maids. These prints were featured in British Fashion magazines in the the 1800s so that the women of those times could see what high society was wearing. Godey's Magazine featured Capewell and Kimmel engravings through the 1800's.

The print itself is 8 1/2 " x 11". It is framed in an antique wood frame painted in gold leaf. The frame is 14" x 16". As with all Capewell and Kimmel prints there is a center fold created by it's original use in the fashion magazines. There are a few water/age spots, but no tears in the print.

Capewell and Kimmel prints are highly collectible and are displayed in many museums, the Library of Congress, etc.
