This is a fabulous vintage travel book of the Highlands of Scotland by Ward Lock & Co, London. It is a lovely hardback book with 192 pages of maps and plans, photos and lovely black and white line drawings of the Scottish Highlands. There are 3 pull out maps in black and white with a lovely teal blue sea.

The book is full of all the information needed by a visitor to the area, including walks, short excursions, early closing (remember when shops used to shut early on Wednesdays?!) and transport.

There is no date on this book but it was probably published in the 1960s (judging from the dustjacket design). The book is in fabulous condition. The dust jacket has a couple of small rips but nothing which spoils it. The maps are lovely and bright and don’t seem to have been used and the pages are clear and crisp.

This would make a gorgeous gift for someone who loves the Highlands of Scotland or who collects these fascinating guide books. It is a wonderful insight into the Scottish Highlands area in the 1960s and would be fascinating for social historians as it has all sorts of lovely details....

A great gift for Father’s Day!

We also have a Ward Lock Red Guide for the Lake District (as you can see from the photos). It is here - https://www.etsy.com/listing/101587637/ward-lock-red-guide-lake-district
