Whether your channeling LaToya for a one of a kind street style look; shopping for a Father's Day gift for the 'head' honcho of the household; or just looking for suitable headgear to don whilst cruising your yacht around Boston Harbor on the 4th, this is a REAL vintage find!

Isaac Ratner, a cap manufacturer, moved his wife and family of six children from New York City to San Diego in the 1920s. In World War II, with sons Abe and Nate, he became the primary maker of US Naval uniforms and caps. He even invented some of his own designs for the military.

This cap is wonderful. Though dusty and yellowed a bit with age, the design elements are fantastic - I love the gold braid crown band and solid metal eagle crest on the front.

It's marked Size 7 1/4 (small tag in side band) and its original olicloth liner still has the original label and owner's name inside:

The Commodore * Desiogned and manufactured by RATNER - San Diego, California **** Lt. (j.g.) W. A. BROCK, VC-98, c/o F.P.O. FRISCO

It's a great piece of history; yet very wearable for today.

CONDITION: Structurally sturdy & excellent for age, but the "white" duck material has yellowed a bit - suspect there may be a way to have it cleaned; but personally I would keep it as is. No funky odors & I have a smoke free home.
