French pewter footed bowl with boars head handles. Aren't the handles on this bowl fabulous! This is a sturdy footed bowl with a decorative foot and a wide, shallow bowl. On either side are two handles formed from two boars heads. There is a maker's mark (see 3rd photo), Les Etains du Manoir, Paris, France written around a castle, and underneath Etain.

Hunting is popular is France and the boars heads are symbolic of that.

The bowl stands 4½ins (11.5cm) tall from the bottom to the top of the boars head. The bowl is 5¼ins (13.5cm) in diameter across the top. There are some age marks in the bowl (see 4th photo) and on the foot but no dents.

This is a great conversation piece and a quality piece of pewter.
