One of three pieces from my kimono spring flowers series.
This listing features a hand formed deep decorative bowl.

Made in my Somerset studio, I pinch out the basic bowl form from stoneware clay and then roll it from the inside against a plaster bat to refine the shape and thin out the walls. After leaving it to dry I paint over the bowl with a porcelain slip, gradually introducing turquoise underglaze to the mix. This allows me to build up a soft background canvas of hazy to add the bright, bold blossom design to. Red and black underglaze are used to paint on the flowers on the wall of the bowl. I have used transparent glaze to enrich the decorative panel, but have left the rest of the interior unglazed to provide a contrast in texture.
The underside of the bowl shows a build up of porcelain glaze with increasing turquoise intensity. A dip dyed effect!

A lovely statement bowl, very feminine, and would look beautiful within a group of contemporary ceramics to enhance your home decor and show everyone how classy you are!
Not suitable for food, this bowl is for decoration.
Bowl dimensions: 10 cm diameter, stands approx cm tall
