Made of Arizona Desert Ironwood, a very beautiful, very dense & durable exotic hardwood. No stock photos here...the pick shown is the actual pick you will receive. Awesome grain patterns, with the heartwood & sapwood intermixed in this very unique guitar pick, the pick is hand brushed with several coats of an acrylic enamel clearcoat, with the tip of the pick left without the enamel, it was treated with a special oil blend, this is to retain the true tone of the natural wood, This premium handcrafted guitar pick was shaped & sanded independently, it features a concave thumb groove on each side to ensure a firm grip, & to also give the pick an incredible feel of control. This pick measures approx. 1-1/4"or 31 mm long X 1-1/16" or 27 mm wide, it is about 3 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, but feels & plays thinner due to the thumb grooves on each side, the pick tapers down to a thickness of about 1 mm at the tip, & was designed with the guitarist in mind for comfort, durability,& playability. For some guitarists, It may take a while to get used to playing with a wooden pick, but every guitar player that I know, simply can't live without their hardwood guitar picks. So why not take your guitar playing to new highs, with the true tones that my handmade Artisan wood picks employ...They also make excellent gifts! Thanks for looking!

ARIZONA DESERT IRONWOOD - Olneya Tesota
The desert ironwood only grows in the washes and valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. The Sonoran Desert is located in southwestern Arizona, southern California, and the northwestern part of Mexico.
The wood of the desert ironwood is very hard and dense, it actually sinks in water. The color may be a variation of light to very dark chocolate to purplish browns, with light cream colored sapwood. Old growth fiber and density is apparent in its tight grain pattern, as such it makes for an ideal tone wood, for a crisp beautiful sound. Burls have high figure & are simply stunning. A truly rare wood from the Sonoran Desert.
