This is an antique Afghan Turkmen necklace handcrafted in the mid 1900's. The triangle is a popular motif from this area and is said to represent the feminine, mimics the mountains and symbolizes the natural riches of the area. The dangling bells are also common among Turkmen women's jewelry - the gentle clanging noise as you walk is said to represent rain, the giver of life, just as the woman is the giver of our life. The red glass bead in the center is an "eye", used to ward off any evil eye directed at the wearer.

From the top of the chain to the bottom of the dangling bells measures 20"
The tip of the triangle to the bottom of the dangling bells measures 7"
