Stunning vintage cardigan, circa 1950s. Made in Italy and sold at Harzfeld's, a high-end department store in Kansas City in business from 1891-1980s. Gorgeous quality wool, inky black, in a lofty larger gauge knit. Simple, easy style has a V neck, buttons up the front, boxy/slouchy fit with seamless dolman sleeve/torso, and sleeves that come a bit past the elbow. The sweater is adorned with large, smoky gray iridescent sequins; their effect is magical and shimmering, but also sort of ridged as they move, like some spiny night creature. Luxe and cool.

The sweater will fit a variety of sizes due to its cut and the stretch of the knit, and whether it is worn open or buttoned. The measurements, taken lying flat and buttoned and doubled where appropriate, are approximately:

Bust: 39"
Hem/hip: 38"
Sleeve length: about 16"
Sweater length: 23"

Condition is very good, clean, and well cared-for. There are a few faint spots here and there I doubt you'll notice, and a bit of very minor pilling to the wool. The sequins show what looks like light oxidation, which gives them a wonderful tarnished metal look. Ready to wear.
