where to begin with this guy.. silver case, perhaps pewter, with two feet and handle. roman numerals and numbers are displayed on the face. the back is marked " LE VAINQUEUR" and was made exclusively in france. the back features a small window which allows you to see the clock as it works.

from the research, we believe this is made between 1880 and 1890 by french manufacturer JAPY.

when wound, this clock does function, however the small key to set the time is missing. the time can be adjusted by using small pliers. as with all old alarm clocks, it is important to take into account that this item may need to be professionally cleaned to continue it's long life.

measures 7" (18,5 cm) tall and the face is 4" (10 cm) in diameter. the casing is 2.7" (7 cm) deep.
