These unique pillows are made from an authentic piece of Mayan traje. The piece is from Chichicastenango and was most likely used to keep tortilla or other food warm...they call it a napkin. The dog design and colour use are lively and cheerful! On one side of each pillow is a blue dog and then a purple dog on the other side. Rare and collectable textile.

++This listing is for a set of 2 (two) pillows++

measurements: 13" x 11.5"
weight of both pillows: 2.34 pounds

The original piece was made up of two panels that were hand woven on a backstrap loom. The dogs are brocaded into the fabric as it's made. A piece this size takes almost 2 months to make. Gently used textile with plenty of life left making practical sturdy pillows.

*Pillows come stuffed with shredded high-quality textile scraps lending a very nice weight to the pillow making for very comfy and useful pillows. They are kind of lumpy in that old fashioned kind of way! You can plump them all day long.
