This wonderful charming antique French wall clock is by the famous maker "Japy Frères" of France. It dates from the the early 20th century and is made of toleware (tôle) painted blue and pale yellow in the famous "Lustucru" pattern. Look for the matching kitchen towel rack in my shop!

The face shows Arabic numbers with handsome steel hands. The clock mechanism is original and complete bearing the Japy trademark (see photos). The mechanism is in good condition but requires a professional cleaning in order to function reliably. If interested, we are happy to provide this service for an additional fee of $90. Overall, the clock is in excellent condition with no damage or rust.

Japy Frères was famous for its wall clocks at the turn of the 20th century in France and throughout Europe. This model was popular and existed in various colors and styles. Few survive, especially in their original condition with their mechanism in tact, making this piece quite special indeed.

It is a true French treasure!

Dimensions: 13 inches diameter.
