Standing one to two inches tall, these miniature houses are crafted from salt dough. The tops are hand painted in toning shades of pale turquoise, with unique roof and window designs drawn on in black ink.

For variety, I've coloured some by kneading natural ground spices into the dough: paprika for pinky tones, cinnamon for a wheaty brown and turmeric giving a pale yellow tint.

They're all protected with a clear spray varnish to bring out the colours and prevent the designs from smudging. So while the colors are glossy, the dough surface still feels natural.

They'd make a cute and colourful addition to a shelf or mantelpiece. Or if you're feeling generous, they'd also make a great housewarming gift.

For a bigger impact, why not make your own street? Choose a couple of different packs and mix and match. The blue looks particularly good with yellow and orange.

Each house is a one off - nobody else will have one like it. And please remember, each house is shaped, painted and outlined by hand so please expect some natural variation in size and shape. That's part of the charm, right?
