This vintage little curiosity was a must when our grandmothers were sewing all our clothes. It was used to mark a skirt length for hemming. It stood on the floor next to the person wearing a skirt, squeezing the bulb would spray a line of powdery chalk onto the skirt all the way around, at the exact height chosen on the measuring stick. Clever !

It is in good vintage condition. The wooden base is in v good condition, the wooden yard stick is removable, an unusual 36" with a notch at the top for the tubing. The plastic red canister has powder in it still. I replaced the tubing as it had dry rotted and cracked. The bulb is good except where it attaches to the tubing it had a crack so it was taped. It works perfectly as demo'd in picture 5.
