I have always loved the mystique behind the brass coils worn on the necks of the women from the Kayan Lahwi tribe and was inspired to make something that has some of the drama. I hoped to capture some of that magic through this extra elongated stacked bangle cuff. It does actually have a slightly optically elongating effect to the arm.

For this cuff, I have created a multi-bangle effect, yet the "bangles" are all spaced and adhered to rods so that they stay in place and together. I have always loved the look of multiple bangles worn on the arm, but I always lose them and am not fond of the constant up and down clanking that occurs all day long. So, I made something with all the drama, but minus the noise and easier to maintain, without having to keep up with 20 separate pieces.

In addition to being inspired by the Kayan Lahwti tribe, I love the idea behind other cultural traditions of wearing bangles as well. One tradition of wearing bangles (churi), which is an indian one, is a symbol of matrimony. Traditional churi bangles are made of glass and Indian women attempt to wear as many small glass bangles as possible at her wedding and the honeymoon will end when the last bangle breaks. Such a romantic idea!

I have seen images of belly dancers wearing bangles as well, and upon further investigation I found that many would wear bangles because of the ability to shake the wrists to create a jingling sound while dancing. My design doesn't make any sound, but would definitely fit the part aesthetically as an accessory to a traditional belly dancer outfit.

Sizing: One size fits most~ It fits wrists anywhere from 5.5 - 8" in circumference. Willing to customize for your specific size needs, just ask, no problem!
