This is a pretty light brown sugar colored fleece from my fiber boy, Nick. Nick is a curious, friendly (but you don't have to pet me) kind of guy. He quietly hangs in the background.

Because this is fleece sheared from Nick's neck and outside his prime blanket, you will find variance in the fineness and the length. The staple length is between 1/2 inch and 3 1/2 inches.

I didn't remove any of the second cuts left behind by my shearer. Actually it weighs 2 pounds, 9.8 ounces because I knew some of it, like the second cuts, will just get thrown out. It's very clean. I doubt if you will find any VM (vegetable matter).

Nick's prime fleece is going to Zeilinger's mill to be made into a swirled roving. I would probably use this fiber for felting although some of it could be sorted out and spun up.
