Antique baby dress or underdress/slip. The upper portion of dress is plain white cotton with lace around top. Any pink in images is reflection - piece is white.

The bottom 12" is two layers - the bottom layer is white cotton with scalloped edge lace - top layer is soft net with embroidered floral pattern (tambour) edged with lace. Bottom of dress/slip is very full - French seams are hand finished. The shoulder "straps" are front and back separate curved pieces without any buttons or snaps - possibly pinned as one piece has a 1/2" pull tear.

Measurements:

Chest - Underarm to underarm - 12.5"
Length - 38"
Width around bottom is about 80"

The garment is in good antique condition - it is laundered and clean. Found 1 repair, a 2" section of lace is missing on underlayer and tear on shoulder strap as mentioned above. As with many "homemade" baby garments- the upper portion was probably reused from a older petticoat - you can still see the stitching line where large pin tucks were removed.

Antique Baby Long Dress or Slip - 38" long - White - embroidered tambour net lace
