Our designers wanted to come up with something new....and they have outdone themselves again... introducing "The NixieTherm II"..big brother to our famous "Nixie Therm"....a two tube Nixie thermometer using two vintage Russian N.O.S, (New Old Stock) IN-14 Nixie tubes!

The result is the union of a modern microcontroller with a vintage classic display technology to create a lovely hand made novel temperature indicator. In its transparent enclosure the device will set off any home or office setting or desk to advantage and what’s more, the unit even doubles up as a night light.

Nixie tubes have a special charm all of their own. This digital thermometer, which uses just two tubes, is a little bit different. The temperature measurement itself is done by a Dallas-Maxim DS1820 one-wire sensor, while an AT89C2051 microcontroller processes the temperature information and drives the vintage Russian IN-14 cold war era Nixie tubes. Power consumption is less than two watts which makes it very energy efficient.

The red and blue LED indicators indicate whether it is getting warmer or colder. The red LED lights when the temperature is rising, while the blue LED lights when the temperature is falling. If the temperature is steady from one reading to the next, neither LED lights. The size is 3 1/4 inches square with a removable clear cover. It has four soft plastic feet to protect the table or desk.
