A lovely tea or coffee pot in practically perfect condition.

Midwinter Pottery was founded in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England. During the 1950's and 60's they produced some iconic pieces in collaboration with designers such as Conran - these are now highly collectible.

This piece is more recent but the pattern is clean, crisp and very slightly Scandinavian in feel and would suit most interiors.

The stamp on the base says 'shapes designed by The Marquis of Queensbury'...not sure of the connection to pottery but the 9th Marquess is particularly well-known because of the rules of boxing that were named after him (the Marquess of Queensberry rules), and for his litigious interaction with Oscar Wilde!

Midwinter potteries were taken over by Meakin Studios and finally by Wedgewood before they ceased trade in 1987.
