Double rainbow power!!

This listing is for a pair of twin skeins, spun from matching batts. They are 100% wool, very soft and very bright. The batts were labeled as "Punta wool"; Punta refers to a region in South America, not a breed, so I'm not sure what breed of sheep these may be from, but whatever it is, it's very, very, very soft. Next-to-skin, easily.

I spun them with the corespinning technique. This means that the lovely soft wool has been allowed to wrap, firmly but fluffily, around a solid core yarn (in this case, a commercial acrylic). The result is a thick, squishy, fluffy yarn with a unique, varied texture and a lot of life. Of the art spinning techniques, corespinning yields the yarn that feels the closest thing to as soft as that original, snuggly batt.

Colours: Rainbow! Each skein has bright, bold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The colours appear only once in each skein - so each skein is a complete rainbow, from cherry to grape. Transitions are marled.

The skeins are 40yds each for 80yds total. They'd be great for a matching pair of mitts, or for another project knitted in two halves. They could also be used end-to-end for a double rainbow effect in a larger project. Or, for an extremely super bulky yarn, ply or hold together both for an extra fat single gradient. While the presence of an acrylic core gives these yarns surprising stability for their fluffiness, I can't recommend them for especially hard-wearing objects (like slippers/socks for an ambulatory person). They'd go great with dreads or falls.

40yds each, 80yds total - you will receive both skeins.
3.4 oz each, 6.8oz total
Super bulky - average about 4 WPI, some thick/thin
100% wool around 100% acrylic core
WILL felt; to avoid felting, hand wash only in cool water, and lay flat to dry

Not a knitter, crocheter, weaver, etc yourself? I'd be happy to work this up for you! Look for Custom Knitting in the shop.

Spun & stored in a smoke- and pet-free home. I do my best to represent colours accurately but they may vary monitor to monitor.

All my yarns have been thoroughly washed to set the twist, and to ensure integrity of the yarns, especially the art yarns. They're then conditioned with an organic, scent-free conditioner, and hung to dry unweighted.

Double Rainbow - corespun art yarn handspun gradient, 2 matched skeins, super bulky, 80yds total, 100% wool
