You are looking at a cabinet photo of a Victorian era girl, a performer I think judging by her star spangled costume that includes her dancing shoes! She's showing a bit more leg than would have been appropriate unless she was posing in costume. Note the reticule or handbag is also decorated with those tacked on stars. Photo is somewhat faded , the Studley studio from Chicago is printed in purple at the bottom and on the back of the card. Dating this cabinet photo is difficult--the fact that it's mounted on a lightweight creamy white card stock with small printing and rounded edges, indicates the late 1870's, but the Studley studios were in Chicago in the late 1880's through the mid-1890's. Comes from a non-smoking home. This item is sold As Is. Got questions? Want more pictures? Please email me!
