TIP: Practice first. A cereal box works well.

First, adhere the stencil to your surface. Some people prefer using blue painter’s tape to secure the four sides while others prefer to use spray adhesive.

A little goes a long way. Just a mist is all you need. Always follow the instructions on the can. Spray the back of the stencil and then let it set for 2 to 3 minutes. This makes the adhesive less sticky so you can reposition the stencil if you need to. Once the stencil is placed where you want it roll a brayer or a can of peas back and forth up and down over the stencil to make sure you have good adhesion to your surface.
When applying the paint just remember less is better. You can always add more paint. Dip your brush in the paint and then remove most of the paint. If you put a big glob of paint it may bleed under the surface of the stencil. When you are finished applying the paint

REMOVE THE STENCIL IMMEDIATELY. Do not leave the stencil on your surface while the paint dries.
No worries!

If you notice the bleed under after the paint is dried just use the same color of paint as your surface and paint over it.

If the paint is still wet take a damp sponge, paper towel or QTip and wipe it away.
