From the early Fantasia pottery era in the cobalt and cream style is this oval serving dish or casserole. It measures 10-3/4" including handles, 8-3/4" is the main body in length and it is 6-1/4" wide. The inside has crazing from use and there is an old chip on one edge. The handles are in solid condition and the dish is marked "Mexico" on the reverse. There are no cracks or flakes. The lid is also in very good aged condition without cracks, flakes or chips. Fantasia style pottery was made in the Tlaquepaque and Tonala areas outside of Guadalajara, many of the best pieces were made in the 1920s-1940s. Similar pieces to this may be found in the pages of "Ceramica: Mexican Pottery of the 20th Century" by Amanda Thompson.

Very carefully packed for its safe arrival.
