I threw this bowl with a white stoneware then had fun decorating the exterior with a design that would catch the gold shino glaze. It was fired in a gas kiln to cone 10 (approximately 2300 degrees F.) The lip was sprayed with a blue glaze that turned a rich purple on the side of the bowl that was reduced. The exterior shows off a beautiful lustre so common with shino glazes while the interior picked up a golden rust.

This bowl will hold 6 generous cups and measures 8-1/4" in diameter by 3-3/4" deep. It is perfect used as a side dish, or as a mixing bowl.

All of my pottery is food, dishwasher and microwave save.
