This little quilt measures 9 ½ inches by 7 ½ inches.

It is made of scrappy blue strings surrounded by paths of blue cotton. This piece was made without a pattern. The strings were sewn into strips then bound together with blue strips that were cut to different widths. Once it was put together, I trimmed the borders to make the larger rectangle and added the ½ inch outer white and blue borders.

Straight quilting has been done around the edges of the outer borders and a meandering stitch was done throughout the center.

The batting is low loft cotton poly.

The piece has been prewashed to ensure that the colors would not run and to give it the well loved look of cotton.

The backing is the same blue that you see in the outer border. Tabs have been added to the 4 corners of the back so that the piece can be hung either by inserting a small dowel or by putting the corner over a small hook or nail.

It could also be used as a mug rug or snack mat.
