This vintage cigarette case features a two-toned gold art deco design on the front face and brass rear panel. The single curved corner gives this sophisticated case a subtly disctive look compared to more common rectangular cases. Made by elgin american, this case probably dates to the 1950s. If you're a non-smoker, this elegant case also works perfectly for cash, IDs, business cards, etc. The case hinge mechanism is in perfect working order, it closes tightly. The inside spring clips which keeps the cigarettes in place is good and strong. There are a few scuffs and light scratches on either side, but none are too unobtrusive. If the tarnishing on the back side bothers you, I believe it will polish out with a bit of Brasso and elbow grease. This case will hold today's "standard-size" filtered cigarettes. External measurements are: 3-7/8" tall x 2-7/8" wide x 3/8" thick.
