Vtg 40s 50s Mazer Chevron Rhinestone Choker Necklace Signed - Very Chic

DecadencePast presents a great vintage rhinestone choker necklace in a deco chevron motif, signed Mazer.

Mazer Brothers was founded by Joseph Mazer and his brother, Louis, in New York City in 1926. One of their most famous designers was Marcel Boucher. He left Mazer to open his own shop in the mid 30's.

In 1946 Joseph Mazer left Mazer Bros. to start Joseph J. Mazer and Co. (better known as JOMAZ) while brother Louis stayed at Mazer Bros. until 1951... the year of his last jewelry collection.

Mazer Bros. was known for its innovative pieces; exploring new design/production methods, and experimenting with different techniques of creating metal alloys or for use in the refinishing process. Stones used in their jewelry were frequently made to order by Swarovski in Austria.

Based on provenance and the history or the Mazer marks, this lovely signed piece comes from the late 40s to early 50s. It's a very solid, smooth choker length necklace of interlocking clear rhinestone studded chevrons. There are two Mazer marks on it (see closeup).

Classic, elegant and perfect for today, even though it's over 60 years old.

MEASURES: 14" x 3/8" MARKS: Mazer

CONDITION is excellent with the following exception: One missing stone 3 1/2" from the back clasp & one missing stone right at the edge of the clasp closure itself (really have to look for it). Since the clasp is a bit larger than the necklace links and is studded with matching rhinestones, you could move a stone from clasp are to the link if it really bothers you. Frankly, I don't think such a repair is necessary - this piece is totally wearable & lovely as is. The missing stone is near the back where it won't be seen.

All of my items (unless otherwise noted) are from a smoke free home. FYI, this necklace came from the same estate as this Hobe Brooch: https://www.etsy.com/listing/64614436/vintage-40s-hobe-sterling-silver-large

Your package goes out the same or next business day following payment so it arrives promptly & safely. for more info about shopping with FashionPuss and DecadencePast: https://www.etsy.com/shop/FashionPuss/policy?ref=shopinfo_policies_leftnav
