Victorian Nurse Gothic Art Doll - Reduced by £25!
*** This is the one time of year I'm able to offer some of my dolls at a special price as the best way I can think of to say Thank you to the wonderful people friends and strangers that support me all year round. And of course, and offer isn't special unless you can get it in time for Christmas :) Offer closes at the end of Dec. Thank you all <3 ***Nurse Foster is a unique young woman in Victorian Britain (1860's ish) – A lady that has found a career and independence of her very own. She left her loving family, with lots and lots of brothers and sisters, to try and earn some extra money to help support them, and was lucky enough to be taken on as an apprentice at a large London hospital. She knows that she would never have got this far without the kind letter from Rev. Black recommending her to his cousin the surgeon. And she lives a very simple life in a tiny room that she rents near the Asylum where she works.

There is something a little odd about Nurse Foster, but I’m not quite sure what it is. She’s either keeping some dark aspect of her past a secret, or she may not be quite as good and well behaved as she looks. I just can’t get her to tell me.
Whatever it is she’s certainly trying her best at her work, taking every care to look after and comfort her patients. She knows that her Asylum is far and away a better place to work or be treated than many of the others in the area.

Nurse Foster has on a neat and tidy uniform with wide skirts. She doesn’t have the early Victorian crinoline underneath as it’s just too difficult to work in. So instead has on two gathered petticoats, one in dark red and the other black and white stripe. Her navy dress has long sleeves and a high neckline, with white collar and cuffs. She somehow manages to keep her large crisp white apron perfectly clean, and is never seen wearing a dirty apron when she starts at the Asylum each morning. Her hair is held back by a traditional white starched nurse’s cap or bonnet.

She weighs approx. 80g, and is 25cm tall.
She will be delivered to you securely wrapped and decorated, protected and with contact details; ready to give as a gift, or just because it’s always nice to receive nice parcels.

All my work is unique and authentic; supplied with signed and dated documents. I keep full records of each doll I produce, what inspired me, and when and how they were created. Every doll is individually handmade, and will not be re-created. So every doll has their own, unique, one-of-a-kind personality.
