One of three pieces from my kimono spring flowers series.
This listing features a hand formed three legged pouring pot.

Made in my Somerset studio, I pinch out the basic bowl form from stoneware clay and then roll it from the inside against a plaster bat to refine the shape and thin out the walls. I have formed a simple spout, and attached legs to raise the piece and create more interest. After leaving it to dry I paint over the bowl with a porcelain slip, gradually introducing turquoise underglaze to the mix. This allows me to build up a soft background canvas of hazy to add the bright, bold blossom design to. Red and black underglaze are used to paint on the flowers on the wall of the bowl. I have traced the rim of the bowl with rich turquoise spots. The interior has been glaze with transparent to protect and enrich colours.
The underside of the bowl shows a build up of porcelain glaze with increasing turquoise intensity. A dip dyed effect!

A unusual statement piece with a very feminine decoration, and would look beautiful within a group of contemporary ceramics to enhance your home decor or on your dressing table to hold trinkets.
Not suitable for food, this piece is for decoration.
