The hamsa is known by many names,in many faith traditions, but protection from evil,or the evil eye, always seems to be at its core. Each hamsa will have either a depiction of a real eye,or a symbolic eye, like this one.The "eye" in this hamsa is a hand cut piece of vintage china,in black, gold and ivory colors.

The hamsa is 10 inches tall,8 inches wide, and slightly over 1/4 inch thick. The finger nails are mother of pearl. I used an opaque claret red stained glass, and white stained glass. I added highlights with acrylic gems. It is outlined with acrylic purple gems. The sides are finished with purple gems, and the black stained glass. I used a neutral gray, sanded grout, and sealed it with a clear acrylic sealer.
The back is painted silver, and also sealed.

The hamsa is an original work, one of a kind, and is signed on the back.
