This is the sweetest antique infant scale with a wicker basket for weighing a baby by ounces up to 25 pounds. Adorable lithographed baby portrait on the face of the cream colored scale from the 1910's or 1920's.

Lovely prop for newborn baby photography. Perfect for the vintage nursery. Nice decor item for the shabby chic or country cottage home. I have had another on my kitchen counter for 20 years repurposed as a bread basket.

Wonderfully distressed with chippy paint, intact wicker basket shows wear of the green paint, scale has scratches, a bit of rust and the glass is cracked. The basket is removable, it is held on by wire. There is a calibration knob for weighing with or without the basket.

I would suggest coating this with a clear matte spray acrylic to prevent further paint loss and rust, and to seal the remaining paint in case there is any lead content. It will not diminish the look or devalue the piece at all to have that protection.

It will come to you apart due to size and shipping costs for oversize boxes. I will also offer local pick-up. I'm located about half way between NYC and Boston. for more unique vintage items and baby photo props...
