Here is a charming old French fisherman’s stool made of steel and fabric, and dating from the 1950s-1960s. Foldable and rather light, it was easy to carry when strolling around in search of the ideal fishing spot along the country streams and, once unfolded, sturdy and comfortable enough to provide a nice seat during the long hours angling for the mighty catch!

Unfolded, this stool measures 14” tall, and 13¼” by 9½” wide (and once folded, merely 1” and 10½” by 9½” wide). It is still in excellent vintage condition with just some stains
and other minor signs of usage on the original fabric, which otherwise remains nicely intact and solidly bound. The steel frame, painted blue by a previous owner, shows no sign of corrosion.

All in all, nothing really to detract from the authentic appeal of this lovely – and rather uncommon – vintage piece, which still has plenty of years of service to offer or can just be displayed for a typically French country touch in your home décor.
