I remember going to the Dairy Queen as a child in the 60's and 70's when getting an ice cream cone was a big deal, especially if you got a dipped one!

I recently picked up an entire box of 1960's thru 1980's Dairy Queen advertising signs and posters at a local sale. This is what I know: the box belonged to the sellers parents who ran a local Dairy Queen in my area (Kankakee, Illinois) for many years. These items came from this ice cream store. Dairy Queen was patented and started in Kankakee, Illinois in the 1940's. After searching online, I have not found any signs exactly like this. Perhaps advertising and menu items were different for DQ in other areas of the country?

This DQ advertising poster measures 22 " long by 17 1/2 " wide. It says Live a Little and shows a large sized plain ice cream cone and says Enjoy A BIG ONE. Printed in the cone is SUPER-KUP. The colors are great mid-century olive green, red, white and yellow. The date on the bottom is 1967. I don't think it was ever used. The prices were never written in on the bottom spaces. It has been folded twice (for storage) but is in excellent shape with no issues other than the minor wear along the fold lines.

What a great piece to be displayed in your basement rumpus room or in a mid-century kitchen with those colors!
