A beautiful, simple labyrinth hangs gracefully upon a powder blue, hand-dyed silk cord with a matching bead. These are part of my Labyrinth Collection that I designed to be worn during pregnancy, labor and birth to symbolize the journey of birth which turns us inward... we travel one step at a time through the spiral of life, and though the path may double back, there are no wrong turns. We need only go forward in trust and love as eventually we meet our new baby and mothering self at the very center.

This particular labyrinth is the famous one at Chartes Cathedral which dates from the 13th century. The pendant and bead are in antiqued silver, made in the US by Tierracast, a company which prides itself for producing beautifully detailed beads made from food-grade, leadfree pewter. The silk cord is approximately 36 inches in length, so you can tie it at whatever length most suits you, hold it in your hand or simply hang it in your place of birth. The pendant is just under an inch in diameter (24mm).

Your Labyrinth Necklace will arrive carefully packaged for gift-giving with a story card, in an unbleached, cotton bag with a labyrinth in matching colors hand-stamped on it. These are nice, thick muslin bags, with strong lace ties and make a great place to store your necklace when you're not wearing it.

These necklaces make wonderful gifts for pregnant mamas, for baby showers and mother blessings, for doulas and midwives. They are also a powerful symbol for anyone who enjoys the beauty and peace of travelling the labyrinth. For more information on labyrinths & birth, I highly recommend reading 'Labyrinth of Birth' by Pam England.
