This is an unusual pin.

The white barbershop quartet styled skimmer hat with a red band and the cane are sensible. The shoes are surprising. They are green and seem to be moccasins with floral detail and work boot tread. I think they are supposed to represent “soft shoe.”

The pin is made of hard plastic. The shoes are hung on two different lengths of brasstone chains which are attached through a button-like shank on the back side of the hat, then through the cane. Because the hat can spin freely in its connection to the cane, the pin can be worn in any position with the shoes dangling properly.

The pin is approximately 2 1/4" long (the length of the cane), 2 1/2" tall (measured from the top brim of the hat to the toe of the dangling shoes) and 5/8" deep (including the height of the pin back). The pin is unmarked. The maker is unknown.

The pin is in very good condition. All of the pieces are securely attached to one another. The hook lock pin back works properly. Please see the pictures for the greatest detail.

Embrace the unexpected.
