This beanie is hand knit using a recycled 100% lamb's wool yarn. The color is a deep emerald green like wet pine needles. The thinness of this yarn creates a finely knit fabric, ideal for moderate climates and urban wear. Laying flat in a relaxed state it measures approximately 12.5in(31.7cm) in length and 20.5in(52cm) in circumference.

The Shear series consists of angular transitions which form a parallelogram of ribbing in the central area. Various stitch patterns are used to accent these angular transitions. Subsequent versions in the series will follow these basic parameters.

Shear Charlie is the third in the series. I used four distinct ribbing patterns in angular formations to define the characteristic parallelogram shape. The ribbing is further developed into the trefoil crown which is a design element common to all my hats.

Keep it in tip top shape by hand washing it in a mild detergent, and then drying it flat. Remember that wool is hair, so if you'd like to use shampoo or body wash go right ahead. You can also use conditioner to add some sheen. Wool is excellent at wicking away moisture, so water goes right through it. When drying do not wring or twist, instead just squeeze. You can also roll it up in a towel and step on it a few times. Then lay it flat to dry completely.
