Hand-sculpted soapstone earrings, acorn shaped.
The stone is fixed on a natural acorn cap.

Earrings: pale green / size: 17mm x 11mm
Earwire: colour: aged brass / size : 19mm x 19mm / Material: Nickel free brass

Each block of stone is hand-sawned and hand-sculpted with adapted tools. It is then polished with sandpaper until it becomes smooth and soft. Finally, I coat the stone with a special cream that protects it and reveals its hidden colours. Each piece of jewellery is one-of-a-kind.

Soapstone (also known as steatite or soaprock) is a tender rock that was formed millions of years ago, as a result of lava crystallization. Soapstone is relatively soft because of its high talc content, which allows me to sculpt it by hand. It can be found in different colours, depending on which part of the world it comes from. It has been a medium for carving for thousands of years.

Soapstone is a delicate stone, sensitive to bumps and scratches.
Either worn, stored or showcased, please spare it from scraping and frictions. Also, do take off your jewelry before showering or swimming.
