"Miro in America" by Barbara Rose, with essays by Judith McCandless and Duncan McMillan. Published by The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Copyright 1982. Book was published to accompany an exhibition by the Museum, which focused on Joan Miro's impact on American Art. Beautifully illustrated, the book includes 32 color plates of Miro's works, as well as dozens of black and white photographs of works by Miro and his contemporaries.

This book is in good condition with moderate shelf wear to the cover. Pages are free from stains, dogears, and writing. Book measures 8 1/2" x 10" and has 135 pages, plus list of exhibitions in America, index, list of illustrations, and bibliography.

This book was found alongside many other mid-century art books and exhibit guides that I will be listing from Chattanooga artist George Cress's estate. A modernist, Mr. Cress was one of the most well-respected and renowned artists in the Southeastern U.S., particularly in the mid-20th century. Cress was a prolific painter who traveled extensively, which he believed helped develop his craft. See my other art and design books here:
