At one time, embroidery and cross stitch were the preferred method to hand decorate pillowcases. To come across one in pristine condition is a rare, precious find; stains from use over the years are common, usually from a hot iron or rust in the water, which can sometimes be removed with careful laundering. However, we think these imperfections make them more desirable, perhaps adding even more current vintage charm. Imperfections will be noted.
Meant to be a decorative display item, but use it if you must. Wink, wink. Gently hand wash and press the tea towel if it gets a little dirty.

Vintage pieces vary in age and rarity; each towel is priced accordingly. We carefully check each pillowcase, and if we can keep the integrity, we will mend any problems we may find and remove stains if possible. At times, we find a case with damaged lace edging and either remove or replace with vintage crochet edging.
Just a note to let you know about the quality towels we use.
A yarn dye process is used to make the homespun towels. The yarn is dyed first & then woven into the various patterns. Small irregularities, & uneven weave in spots are a characteristic of the fabric and are not considered flaws. If you find a "knot or pull in the textile just take a small pin or tweezers and transfer it to the underside of the towel.
