50% Silk
50% Baby Camel

Approximately 97.5 g 875 yards

Desert Silk/Baby Camel is a bled of 50% Silk with 50% Baby Camel, and talk about soft! This is a luscious yarn. Camel and alpaca are classified as camilids, and share several qualities between the fibers, particularly the softness of touch, and the lack of lanolin.
The SHINE is incredible contrasted by a slight halo of the camel. A truly special yarn!!

Hand dyed by me with acid (vinegar) dyes in a a great purple/red color. Because of the camel content, the yarn is naturally a tan color so the dyed colors are muted and very interesting. Also the camel and the silk take color very differently so the end result is a complex mix of colors and tones that at times has almost a heathered look. This yarn literally drinks color!! it craves lots of dye, so the colors are rich and saturated. Some lighter and darker sections which will gives the colors are depth in color!

I have tried very hard to make the photos as close as possible to the actual color but of course each computer monitor shows color differently so I apologize if the color is a bit different.

I would recommend a US 3 needles size but really you can use anything from a US 2 - US 7 depending on the gauge needed or desired.

Hand Wash

Please let me know if you would like me to wind the skein into a central-pull cake for you at no extra charge!
