“It’s just an old wooden crate for heaven’s sake. Rosie don’t you get carried away with it now.” Angie said in a condescending tone.

“But...it’s, it’s soo beautiful Angie, just look at it,” Rosie replied as she lifted the box up and looked carefully at it’s construction. “Why just look at the craftsmanship that went into building it. It’s a piece of art, an absolute piece of art.”

“It’s a box, isn’t there something else here you’d like to buy?” Angie swept her hands widely in a futile attempt to get Rosie to look around at all the other items that surrounded them at the annual Thompson County Fall Flea Market.

It was to no avail of course because Rosie was holding the old wooden crate close to her chest as she began to rattle off all the things she could do with the box. “I can make a book shelf out of it...or maybe fill it with flower pots...oh, wouldn’t it look great filled with old mason jars...” She went on and on with the possibilities and Angie knew her whimsical friend was lost to the box.

Here's a perfectly distressed wooden crate with endless possibilities. It has angled sides which make it a great piece to display items. The crate is 19.5" long X 11.5" wide. It is 11.5" high in the back dropping to 9" in the front. It has 2 - 3.5" wide wood slats across the front and 2 on the bottom while the back and sides are solid wood. The wood is 3/4" thick on the sides and 3/8" think on the front and back panels.

This wood crate is in good vintage condition with some wear on it. There's a split on one of the bottom slats but it is still a sturdy box although we wouldn't recommend using it to transport heavy items. We also found some writing on one of the sides.
